Ms. Adame's Assistant Principal's Message
Hello Parkridge Families,
This weekend we changed the clocks and have SPRUNG Forward!!! March 20th will mark the first day of spring!
As we have shared recently, we have started Trimester 3 and are looking forward to ending this academic year strong and beginning the new school year with preparation and excitement.
This week we are holding SART meetings with families in order to review, discuss, and develop a plan to improve their students' attendance. Daily attendance is essential to continual learning and growth academically and socioemotionally. We want all students here daily, on time and ready to contribute to the learning that takes place at Parkridge. Please refer o the attendance policy below.
We will be finishing up ELPAC testing before Spring Break and will begin SBAC testing for our 3rd - 6th graders upon our return in April. These very important State exams provide the students with opportunities to demonstrate their learning and act as one measure of data to analyze Parkridge's growth. We want to ensure that student needs are being met.
In addition, there will be many upcoming opportunities to join as one Parkridge Community and have fun! PTA events, Talent Show, on site ELAC and familiy meetings, and much more.
As always, thank you for the opportunity to serve the students, families, and staff of Parkridge.
With gratitude,
Ms. Suzanne Adame, Assistant Principal

ATTENDANCE POLICY & TIPS ON HOW TO IMPROVE IT
Parents,
Below is a copy of our Attendance Policy for your review.
Please take a moment to discuss our school site's and CNUSD's policy on attendance, tardies, and early outs.
Our tardies have reduced significantly because of all your support, but absences are still very high, even without it being for Covid reasons.
Please talk with your child about going to bed earlier, getting up on time, and being focused and prepared to learn, everyday!
Thank you.
PTA Chocolate Fundraiser
Our PTA will be doing our chocolate fundraiser from March 17th- April 4th. ALL money needs to be turned in to the school by Monday April 4th. Be on the look-out for a flyer coming home soon with more info regarding rules and great prizes. We appreciate everyone's effort and help towards Parkridge.
Counselor's Corner
These last two weeks at Parkridge have been busy and FUN! It was awesome seeing so many of our Tigers participating in our Read Across America spirit days as well as see all the extra reading happening across campus. Ask your child what their favorite book is this week. For our primary grade students, offer to read it to them or read it together before bedtime. For our upper grade students, ask them to share a fun fact about it. Remember, asking those simple questions can help to strengthen your relationship.
Don't forget to check out the counseling page on our Parkridge Website for lots of great information and resources! You can find it by clicking here.

Trimester 2 Awards
In case you missed our 2nd trimester awards assembly, here are the videos for grades 3rd-6th and some pictures from TK/ kinder. We apologize for not providing a video of 1st and 2nd grade as we experienced some unexpected technical difficulties during that assembly causing it not to record as planned. Some good news to look forward to though, our next awards assembly is expected to be held in-person here on campus.
