This week's Principal's Message!
Welcome back from Spring Break Tigers!
It was great seeing all of our staff and students looking well rested after a well deserved week off. We are DEFINITELY in the home stretch for the '21-'22 school year, and we know our learners and teachers are committed to making 3rd Trimester a tremendously successful academic and fun end of the year!
We are wrapping up ELPAC Testing for our hard working English Learners, and in a week, will begin administering the SBAC Common Core Standards-aligned test for students in grades 3rd -6th. This is a GREAT opportunity for our students to "show what they know' in the areas of Language Arts and Math. (5th Grade students also take a Science Test as well!)
The results of these assessments support our amazing educators in designing rigorous lessons, activities, projects, and intervention support in areas that meet the individual needs of all our students. Parents, we ask for your support in making sure that your student gets a good night's sleep the evenings before they test, that they eat a good breakfast the morning of testing, and attend school, ON TIME, on testing days. Encourage them to "DO THEIR BEST", and remind them that they've been working hard all year and are CAPABLE and ready to, "ROAR AND SOAR LIKE A TIGER!"
One final comment...
We'd like to give a HUGE shout out to our families, for supporting us in our efforts to improve morning drop off and afternoon pick-up by making it smoother, quicker, and SAFER! The following practices are what have REALLY made a difference:
- Parents are pulling up all the way forward, before students' exit their car
- Parents are not exiting their vehicles
- Students are prepared and ready to exit the car quickly and safely
- Students and parents are improving in only crossing Corona Ave. at the crosswalk where Mr. Sam our crossing guard is
- Parents are improving in not parking and releasing students' on Corona Ave, in the front of the school (see sign below)
Please don't hesitate to contact your child’s teacher, our school office personnel, or ME at (951) 736-3236 if you have any questions about school policies, procedures or upcoming events, AND HAVE A HAPPY WEEK!!!

Counselor's Corner
I hope everyone had a restful spring break! As we head into the home stretch of the end of our 2021-22 school year, some exciting things are happening. I had the opportunity to host the first drawing club of the year and it was so great to see how many students showed up and actively participated. I loved seeing all the students smiling, having fun, and stepping out of their comfort zone. This week's Think About it Thursday question was "Do you think you are a good friend? Why or Why not?" Ask you child what they answered and let them know what you think makes a good friend. Is it someone who is honest? Someone who is funny? Keep these simple, yet intentional conversations going to help strengthen your relationships.
Don't forget to check out the counseling page on our Parkridge Website for lots of great information and resources! You can find it by clicking here.
